This miniature Divertimento was one of many written for various combinations of wind instruments between 1760, when the composer was in the service of Count Morzin, and 1765, when he had become the Vice-Capellmeister for Prince Esterhazy. The original scoring for this particular Divertimento was 2 clarinets and 2 French horns. On presenting us with this arrangement, Kevin Power (the pianist of SCS) was obviously telling us that he would like at least one piece off in a concert in the future.
