Open to high school students from all over Queensland, The SunWater and Stanwell Winter Music School is a week-long event of intense musical training. This camp is an excellent opportunity for high school students to be inspired by outstanding tutors from around the country and work with fellow musicians.

Students will stay on campus in boarding facilities and be put through their paces in a series of rehearsals, masterclasses and workshops. Every evening staff and student chamber music performances will take place as well as social activities. The week will culminate in a Finale Concert to showcase the achievements of the week by the students.

Activities will include:

• Chamber Music Ensembles
• Individual Masterclasses

Instruments being accepted are:

Frequently Asked Questions

How many students will be involved?
Between 175-250 children will be involved in this week-long event.

Who is invited?
High school students from all over the state are invited to attend from all schools in Queensland (including Public, Independent and Catholic Education schools).

If we live in Rockhampton can my son/daughter stay at home?
Yes. You can chose to drop your child off at the start of the day and pick them up each evening.

Will the Finale Concert be open to the public?
Yes! We encourage you to come along and see what amazing outcomes the students have achieved.

What will my son/daughter/student gain from this experience?
This experience is a unique opportunity for children to gain invaluable knowledge and inspiration from the leading tutors on their instruments.

The intensive and concentrated nature of the camp will create a fantastic learning environment with the top teachers in the field. Students will also form bonds with other musicians from around the state.

The connections made on this camp, with tutors and fellow students, will be extremely helpful in future pursuits of music-making.
