2010 Southern Cross Soloists' Concert Season |
2010 promises to be our most exciting season yet - our premiere season at the Queensland Performing Arts Centre's spectacular Concert Hall!
Once again there will be two concert series of three concerts each: the Showcase Series at our new home at QPAC and Music & Words at the State Library of Queensland.
Showcase Series: Our outstanding line-up of guest artists includes Wissam Boustany (one of the world’s few successful international flute soloists), St Peter’s Chorale, under the direction of choral master Graeme Morton, and two of our favourite singers Gregory Massingham and Jason Barry-Smith. We celebrate the 200th anniversary of Robert Schumann’s birth and the release of our latest CD, France in style – this will be our premiere season in QPAC’s incredible Concert Hall!
Music & Words:Acclaimed Brisbane actors Euguene Gilfedder and Carol Burns will read the works of Paul Verlaine, Dorothy Porter, and Janette Turner Hospital. This series will feature many Australian young, up-and-coming composers, including Annie Hui-Hsin Hsieh, Amy Bastow, Lisa Cheney, Kat McGuffee, Joe Twist, and Liam Flenady!
