Festival Prelude

The Festival Prelude has a fresh, new look this year. Join us as we celebrate the inaugural BMF Young Artists Concert, Emerging Stars of the Region.

Southern Cross Soloists’ Bangalow Music Festival has proven to be a valuable launchpad for many of today’s most successful young classical music artists, including stars such as pianist Jayson Gillham and soprano Alexandra Flood. This year, the Festival Prelude will become a dedicated concert featuring outstanding young and talented emerging artists from the Northern NSW and Gold Coast regions, performing alongside festival headline artists.

Southern Cross Soloists has an exceptional track record for spotting great talent and bringing a steady stream of remarkable musicians to public attention through their Bangalow Music Festival. Together with support from the Australian Decorative & Fine Arts Society Byron Bay, the 2019 concert promises to be an annual highlight that offers outstanding opportunities to the amazing talent that continuously flourishes in this beautiful pocket of Australia and ensures the ongoing legacy of the festival to the people of the region.

This year’s concert will feature ADFAS award winner, Jemima Drews (flute), The Islay Piano Trio, Undine Duo and Sunrise String Quartet alongside the Festival artists.
