The Southern Cross Soloists Next Gen Artists are pleased to present a brand-new concert series in collaboration with the Kenmore Churches of Christ. In October and December 2019, nine young emerging artists from Brisbane and the Gold Coast will perform a total of five concerts exploring diverse, lyrical, and virtuosic works of chamber music. The artists divide into the Sunrise Quartet, Islay Piano Trio, and Undine Flute Duo, with each group aiming to provide fresh, energetic interpretations of repertoire ranging from the Baroque period to contemporary Australian works. Each of the artists is passionate about providing dynamic performances of classical music to Brisbane audiences, and is thrilled to work closely with the Southern Cross Soloists while curating concerts of their own. Three separate programs of music promise a stream of engaging, varied and enchanting concerts that are not to be missed!

featuring the Islay Piano Trio
1 December 2019, at 4pm
If you had one chance to express to the world who you are, how would you do it?
Beethoven and Mendelssohn made their bold first impressions in a new century of self-expression. The Islay Trio presents two
manifestations of these composers, which define the piano trio genre: Beethoven’s turbulent Piano Trio Op.3 No.1 in C minor and Mendelssohn’s sweeping Piano Trio Op.49 No.1 in D minor.
