We are thrilled to welcome an addition to our family of core players. Already familiar to Southern Cross audiences, flautist Jonathan Henderson is our new SXS solo flute.
A note from our newest member, Jonathan Henderson:
“I am honoured and so very grateful to join the Southern Cross Soloists, along a lineage of distinguished flutists who have played with the ensemble to date. Being invited to join this group as a core member holds a personal significance for me, being the chamber group I looked up to with deep admiration as a student in Brisbane during the early 2000's. I couldn't be more delighted and wish to thank my new SXS colleagues who have accepted me into their Southern Cross family!”

Having graced the stage numerous times with her unforgettable musicianship, breathtaking virtuosity and flautistic dynamism, SXS sadly bids adieu to Lina Andonovska as she continues her musical journey on European shores.
A note from Lina:
“To the Friends and supporters of the Southern Cross Soloists, The time has inevitably come for me to step down from my position with SXS, as I direct my focus, energy and commitment to my own projects as well as keeping in mind environmental and financial sustainability of an ever-evolving creative practice. I wanted to thank the Southern Cross Soloists and guests for such incredible music making and experiences over the years, and I look forward to jamming with them all at some point in the future. I am absolutely delighted that Jonathan Henderson will be joining the ensemble, as I look to him with great admiration not only as an incredible artist but as a great friend and colleague. Best wishes for the seasons to come, I will be tuning in from where I may be on the globe!”
